Newcastle Restaurant Week Returns
The incredibly popular Newcastle Restaurant Week is back for 2022, and we’ve picked our favourite places where you can dine out at a discount
Monday: Cafe Andaluz – three tapas for £15 at lunchtime, or bread and olives, three tapas and a dessert for £20 in the evening
Start as you mean to go on at the new tapas restaurant and bar, Cafe Andaluz, who bring a taste of Spain to Grey Street. Beat the Monday blues with three tempting tapas dishes – think patatas bravas, gambas pil pil king prawns and sautéed chorizo with black pudding in a spicy tomato sauce. For dessert, it has to be the churros with hot chocolate dipping sauce.
Tuesday: Tomahawk Steakhouse – enjoy three courses for £15
On Tuesday, head to Tomahawk Steakhouse on the Quayside to enjoy three courses for just £15. Starters include curried parsnip soup, black pudding croquettes, smoked paprika dusted squid and the house nachos, whilst their eight-ounce rump steak is a must for the main. Finish off with a chocolate fondant or a white chocolate rice pudding.
Wednesday: The Muddler – three small plates for £15
For your mid-week meal head to The Muddler for a selection of delicious pan-Asian dishes. From teriyaki chicken to bulgogi pork belly, steamed prawn dumplings and mixed vegetable spring rolls, there is something to satisfy everyone’s tastebuds.
Thursday: Blackfriars Restaurant – three courses for £20 during the day and two courses for £20 in the evening
For a special lunchtime deal, head to Blackfriars, the award-winning restaurant where you can sample dishes such as Northumbrian ham terrine followed by lightly-roasted cod with a potato and cheese mousse. If you’re making the most of their three-course offer, they’ll be serving sticky toffee pudding, plum crumble, chocolate delice and a selection of cheeses, crackers and chutneys for you to indulge in.
Friday: Hibou Blanc – two courses for £10 or three for £15
Start the weekend off in style with a table at Hibou Blanc where you can enjoy a delicious meal and a glass of wine or two. Treat yourself to the terrine of locally-shot game followed by the beef rump cap with smoked mash, fine beans and bourguignon sauce. To top off a fabulous evening, finish with a crêpe suzette – or for something a little lighter, the compote of orchard fruits with a gingerbread crumb and créme anglaise.
Saturday: Khai Khai – one small plate, main dish and side for £20
Spice up your Saturday night with a visit to Khai Khai. The popular Indian restaurant has not only hosted a bunch of famous guests, but their food is full of flavour and packs a punch.
