The Best Places to Enjoy Pizza in Yorkshire
Here's everywhere you need to know
Cresci
Wildly popular and truly authentic, at Cresci they always get it right. Set up in 2020, owner Armando spent time perfecting his pizza-making technique all over the world before bringing his skills to Cresci. Our favourite is the spicy Calabrese with mozzarella, red onions and ‘nduja, but check their seasonal menu for their latest creations.

The dough at this laid-back restaurant is made fresh every day in-house, topped with authentic Italian ingredients, and cooked in a flash in their wood-fired pizza oven. Pizza always goes best with wine so be sure to explore their range of artisan bottles when you visit.

Pizza West
watch the chefs work their magic with their wood-fired pizza oven. The tasty appetisers won’t disappoint (burrata and grilled nectarine anyone?) but our recommendation would be the chorizo pizza with feta, honey and San Marzano tomatoes.

With two successful locations in Sheffield already (and two more further afield), it’s fair to say that the award-winning pizza at Proove goes down a treat. Although their previous venue in Oakwood sadly closed earlier this year, Pizza Loco is back and better than ever in Leeds with a new home in Meanwood Tavern. Open seven days a week, you can expect the same high quality Neapolitan pizza with unique and original toppings. For something different, visit during the day time to try their delicious panuozzi (pizza dough sandwiches).

Rudy’s
With three locations across Leeds and another in Sheffield, Rudy’s is making a name for itself in Yorkshire. The pizzas served are as authentically Neapolitan as they come, with dough made fresh daily, ingredients sourced directly from Naples, and fired in a flash in their traditional oven. The salsiccia is our favourite – fennel sausage, smoked mozzarella, caramelised red onions and chilli flakes.

Nether Edge Pizza Co
Celebrating 10 years of exceptional service in 2024, it’s safe to say that Nether Edge Pizza Co is a firm favourite in Sheffield. Fast, fresh, and always wood-fired, there’s a good mix of classic and contemporary toppings here. We recommend the Broomhill brie, topped with spinach, walnuts and (you guessed it) brie.

Laid-back and friendly, this family-run pizzeria and deli serves classic stone-baked pizza with a contemporary twist, with toppings like smoked salmon, crushed pistachio, fried aubergine and more. There’s a good range of wine here too (Italian of course) and pre-dinner cocktails to indulge in too.

Rad Pizza Shop
Modern and fun, you can find this independent pizzeria at Spark:York where they make their dough on site, leaving it to prove for a minimum of 48 hours before hand-stretching and topping with delicious fior di latte cheese and San Marzano tomatoes. The menu is split into ‘red’ and ‘white’ pizzas. While we’re partial to a white base, the red capricciosa (with black olives, artichokes and mushrooms) is unreal.

San Carlo Flying Pizza
Newly re-opened after undergoing a stunning renovation, with a dining terrace, retractable roof and views into the kitchen, this is an elegant spot for a slice of the best. The pizza here is a knockout, made with Neapolitan flour and Sicilian tomatoes – our favourite is the classic burrata, with ‘nduja and basil pesto.
