Camp Hill Sausage and Beer Festival
The sun’s out, so chill with some banging bangers and a bev in the North Yorkshire countryside
This sausage-fest – no snickering at the back, please – will feature 20 local butchers flaunting some of the best sausages the North has to offer plus some of the region’s finest brewers, and has loads going on for the whole family. There’s the bouncy castle and face painting, sausage-making demonstrations, food and trade stands, a barbecue competition and, most excitingly, a dog agility course and companion dog show. There’s no word yet on whether the dogs involved will have to trail a string of sausages from their mouths as per comic strips since time immemorial, but we can hope. There are vintage tractors on show as well.
This year there’s a barbecue twist to the whole shebang – Andy Annat, lately of the Crackerjack Barbecue pop-up which has been showing up suburban dads all over the region for some time now, will be on hand to barbecue up a storm.
Most of the action comes on the Saturday, but if you fancy making a weekend of it you can camp there in the North Yorkshire countryside on both Friday and Saturday night. Is there a better way to pass a weekend, sun or no sun? We doubt it.
