Diana Ross is Coming to Durham
From royal command to high demand
It’s a busy June for the global superstar. First, she headlined the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace concert, celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee; next the soul sensation will be performing at Glastonbury festival in the Sunday afternoon Legends slot, and to top it off, Diana Ross will perform a special set as part of her Thank You Summer 2022 tour in front of a North East crowd in the beautiful setting of Durham County Cricket Club in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday 29th June.
Diana Ross is one of the most successful recording artists and entertainers of all time, helping to shape the sound of popular music. In the 1960s she reigned as the Queen of Motown, leading The Supremes to chart dominance with hits such as Baby Love, Stop! In the Name of Love, and You Keep Me Hangin’ On.
At the Grammy Awards this year, Diana was honoured with a special gong to mark her 75th birthday and her enormous contribution to music. She was also handed a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2012 for her lengthy career, which began when she joined The Primettes at just 15 years old.
