Gilbert Chon Muscadet Sevre Et Maine Sur Lie 'Clos De La Chapelle' 2021, £9.95
Everything you’d expect from a Muscadet – a charming nose of lemon citrus and apple, with undertones of ripe Cantaloupe melon. Clean and crisp with uplifting acidity, and a deft, saline edge. Very pure and precise with impressive chalky minerality on the long, fine finish. Perfect served with fresh mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. It’s in our fridge at home!
Domaine De La Croix Senaillet Macon Davaye 2020, £14.83 SPECIAL OFFER £13
Top biodynamic St Veran producer. An aromatic nose of stone fruits such as peach and nectarine with added notes of zesty lemon. This wine has great energy on the palate with vibrant acidity and a rounded and well-balanced structure. It has an impressive finish which makes you come back for more and we believe it drinks like a £20-plus bottle of White Burgundy. Very impressive.
Roberto Sarotto Tenuta Manenti Bric Sassi, Gavi DOCG 2021, £13.77
A fantastic Gavi that punches well above its price tag. Impressive nose of green apple, pear, and lemon citrus with hints of white flowers. Vibrant and energetic on the palate with refreshing, crisp acidity that provides structure and wraps around a core of green apple and lemon zest, with added peach and apricot undertones. Linear, pure, and focused with an incredible mineral-driven finish. A must-buy!
Peyrassol Lou Provence Rosé 2021, £11.99
A luscious nose of ripe peach, apricot and grapefruit fills the glass, whilst taste is creamy on the palate and balanced by deft, uplifting acidity that adds another dimension. Further notes of white stone and citrus fruit that fuse with subtle underlying mineral dashes of white pepper seasoning. Provence in a glass. Close your eyes and imagine you’re in the south of France.
Château Puech-Haut Argali Rosé 2021, £13.98
This is a must have rosé for summer. It has a wonderful nose of strawberry and raspberry with added hints of fresh white peach. The smooth, almost silky texture is balanced by vibrant, energetic acidity that wraps around a core of further red summer berries, peach, nectarine, and grapefruit. Seamless and pure, this is a truly sublime rosé which gives neighbouring Provence a run for their money!
Tronquoy De Sainte-Anne, St Estephe 2012, £19.95 SPECIAL OFFER £18
Under the same ownership as Château Montrose, this is a second wine of Château Tronquoy Lalande. A beautiful nose of blackcurrant and cassis fused with cigar box and leather undertones. Medium-bodied on the palate with ripe, fine tannins and a core of bright bramble and black fruit with a savoury edge to the fine finish. An excellent second wine that punches well above its weight!
Michele Reverdito Barbera Butti DOC 2019, £16.95
Andrew, Bon Coeur’s Italian wine buyer describes this as a ‘juicy alternative to Nebbiolo (Barolo)’. A charming nose of strawberry and red cherry is underpinned by hints of iris and black pepper spice. Bright and vibrant on the mid-palate with an excellent ripe, pure black fruit core balanced by silky, soft tannins and a juicy, luscious mouthfeel.
