Tree Stories

On Level 5 view five bespoke tree prints created from a disc of the trunk of the felled Sycamore Gap tree. Commissioned by the National Trust and created by printmaker Shona Branigan, Heartwood shows every tree ring, groove and detail from the cross-section of the heart shaped trunk of the iconic tree.

In Tree Stories, discover more about the secret world of trees with local tree expert, Mark Shipperlee from Living Woods. Storyteller Justine Boussard, the amateur ancestor, will also take visitors on a 300-million-year-old story about Sycamore Gap.
