Tell us what you do.
I handmake candles, diffusers and wax melts from scratch. I wanted to create a brand that wasn’t just vegan products but was also minimal to no waste. All the candles and diffusers are refillable, and I handmake the pots and diffusers, as well as mixing and pouring the scents too.
What’s your background?
I’m actually from a motorsport background. I used to race GT cars for McLaren but wanted to set up a business on the side as my husband and I wanted to start a family. This is now my full time job and motorsport has had to be put on the back-burner due to having our son five months ago. I grew up in East Yorkshire, and now live in Doncaster closer to family.
Where do you work?
Everything is handmade in my garage at home, and the kitchen when the weather is too cold!

What’s your favourite scent?
Plum and Rhubarb. Being from Yorkshire I think rhubarb is always a hit! It’s so fresh and clean, and suits any room.
What’s your typical day?
I work around my son – every nap time I’m making candles! I focus on one task a day, whether that’s making the candles, pouring wax or labelling. That way I feel like I can finish one job and then move on. I hate having lots of unfinished products at any one time.
What’s the hardest part of what you do?
I think people’s opinions when they don’t realise how much work the products take to make. You can always hear when customers try to whisper!
What’s the best part?
Getting return customers for refills. I think this is the best thing I’ve done, and I love that people can reuse their pots again and again.
What are you currently working on?
Since the December rush, I’ve been working on quality and sustainability. I now acid and seal the pots to make them more durable, and the acid brings out all the beautiful colours underneath.
Best place to eat/drink locally?
Lucia. My husband and I had our first date here and got engaged here too!
A TV show or podcast you recommend?
TV show: The Split! And a podcast: Help I Sexted My Boss.
An item you couldn’t live without?
My dressing gown – lots of products are labelled when I’m in my comfys!
Best snack for a long journey?
I always take bananas with me – trying to be healthy.
