Another of Matthew Bourne’s spellbinding productions, The Midnight Bell (Tuesday 8th–Saturday 12th July 2025), set inside a tavern where one particular lonely-hearts club gather to play out their lovelorn affairs of the heart, comes to Newcastle for the first time in 2025. Hailed by The Observer as ‘the undisputed king of dance theatre’, Matthew Bourne has produced some of the most successful dance theatre productions of the last 30 years including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Edward Scissorhands – this is not to be missed.

Happiness is only a heartbeat away with Here & Now (Tuesday 28th October–Sunday 2nd November 2025). Visit Better Best Bargains, where it’s Friday night, the vibe is right and everyone’s dancing in the aisles. This hilarious and heart-warming new musical is based on the songs of pop phenomenon Steps and is the perfect night out.
