Here are just some of the new exhibitors you can meet at the biggest and best seasonal shopping events in the North.
Newcastle Racecourse, 26th–29th October
The Donut Lab, Fox Under The Moon, Hancock Gallery

The Donut Lab
Newcastle-based The Donut Lab will be serving mouth-watering handmade donuts, which are made from scratch. They started making donuts in lockdown and, having now perfected their recipe, their donuts are lighter, creamier and fluffier than ever – and full of flavour. If you haven’t tried them at markets across the region, now’s your chance. There’ll be various flavours – but the 99 Flake donuts and passionfruit and almond donuts are our favourites.

Fox Under The Moon
Author and illustrator Stacey, who is based in North Shields, began her Fox Under The Moon artwork series to make a difference and to spread hope and positivity. It centres around an anxious but inquisitive fox and the moon and shares uplifting messages. The books, prints and cards have reached more than 20 countries around the globe and you can get your hands on yours at the Christmas Fair this year.

Hancock Gallery
Newcastle’s Hancock Gallery is a modern, welcoming and bright space in which to view, experience and buy art. Inside you can discover work from an array of celebrated artists, featuring pieces from the North East as well as worldwide. At Living North’s Christmas Fair the team will be showcasing just some of the art you can find there, and you can also take this chance to find out more about investing in art.

Sloemotion Distillery
Sloemotion Distillery was founded in 2002, and creates great tasting spirits and liqueurs at Green Farm, just north of York. It all started when a farming initiative to improve wildlife habitats resulted in an abundance of sloes and now, as well as their popular sloe gin, they stock cherry brandy, strawberry spirit with vodka and rhubarb and raspberry dry gin.

The Yard & Co.
This small business based in Gateshead makes hand-poured and small batch soy wax scented candles and wax melts in a variety of fragrances and sizes – and supports local charities (including Tyneside & Northumberland Mind and Wave Project North East). We love the Wild Lemongrass scent.
