They serve a wonderful mixture of bar food here, including small plates, pizza, chicken wings and sweet options, perfect for stopping by with friends after work. Their cocktail menu is a real treat too, and the bar was recently a part of the World Class Cocktail Festival.

Once the bustling home of local fruit merchants, Butler Whites is a popular and casual but sophisticated bistro-style restaurant which offers a regularly-changing, experimental menu. Pop in for a post-work drink, or head here for a special celebration. Popular dishes include Butler’s porchetta served with black pudding over a charred apple purée, or try one of their popular baked doughs. It’s popular for Sunday lunch too.

Spread over two floors with a bakery on the ground floor, there are so many things to enjoy at Hearth, from freshly baked pastries and brunch, to cocktails in the bar and delicious small and large plates cooked over their custom hearth served upstairs. It’s no surprise they recently received a glowing review in The Times.
Nibble
The Dock, Queen Street, Hull HU1 1UU

This trendy dock-side eatery is where to go for brunch or late lunch. As well as daily specials from their open kitchen (take a look at the blackboard menu), regular dishes include burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and a super selection of buddha bowls. The choice of sweet treats which fill the counter are pretty good too.
Sebu Hull

seburestaurant.co.uk
Food and late-night cocktails with a 360-degree view of the city is the promise at Sebu. Their cooking is influenced by Filipino-Hispanic food culture, with a simple lunch menu of noodles, ciabatta, rice bowls and curry and a more extensive evening menu which includes a selection of small plates alongside main meals (think steaks, BBQ meats and fish). We’d always opt to share small plates, and with so much to choose from – from confit adoba chicken wings to panko halloumi bites – you should too.
