Our Favourite Brunch Spots in York

Here's our top picks for a mid-morning fix…

Black Wheat Club
Our favourite new spot on York’s Fossgate, Black Wheat Club has an excellent selection of deceptively simple dishes for brunch using fresh buns, homemade sausages and a mixture of straightforward ingredients – cabbage, beans, salted beef and more. For something sweet, there’s a great range of baked goods here too.

Partisan
Seasonality is the name of the game here, with a constantly changing menu and an emphasis on unusual flavour combinations – think scallop and bacon rolls, confit duck toasties and Turkish figs with melted goat’s cheese.

The Blue Barbakan
A delightful eatery in the centre of York with a Polish-influenced menu, before 12pm, guests can tuck into the likes of buckwheat waffles with apple and pear mousse, Polish toast with fried eggy sourdough, and, of course, shakshuka with Polish smoked sausage.
