A relatively new addition to Northumberland, The Village Farm Shop is already hugely popular. Inside, you’ll find their famous deli counter, packed full of homemade sausage rolls, quiche, sweet treats and cakes. Three generations are involved in the running of Hutchinson Hobbs. Their homemade pies come in flavours such as Thai chicken, and fresh bread is delivered from the nearby Stonehouse Bakery. At their butchery, bacon is smoked and cured in-house, and they make their own sausages and burgers using the highest quality produce. They stock more than 30 different gins in their drinks cupboard, as well as a selection of locally produced beers and spirits too.

Located a stone’s throw from Penshaw Monument, Penshaw Farm Shop is popular for good reason. The butcher is award winning, with Aberdeen Angus beef and grass-fed lamb coming from their West Rainton farm, and they also stock Christmas turkeys.
