Property News: Climbing House Prices, Property Developments and Super Staycations
Footy to Family
York City Football Club has sold its old home ground to Persimmon Homes. This 4.25 acre site will be cleared to build 93 homes, 19 of which will include social rent and discount housing. The new space will feature a memorial garden with a section of terrace from the Popular Stand, as well as the centre circle of the pitch to retain its legacy.
Rising Value
According to new data from the Halifax, the average value of a property in Yorkshire was £194,639 in March. This is a 9.5 percent annual increase, but still places the Yorkshire housing market as less costly than the UK average, which sits at another record high of £282,753. With most households starting to feel the squeeze due to rising living costs, this may place Yorkshire as a keen area to move to.
Super Staycations
Holiday at Home are currently offering some fantastic holiday flats with The Darcy Mews collection. Our favourite is the No.1 Darcy Mews flat in Richmond, with cosy interiors and a stylish exterior. This let is dog friendly too – and with a river view from the balcony, it’s the perfect base for exploring the town and the surrounding countryside.

Home Sweet Harrogate
Home builder Redrow has announced the launch of their new Harrogate development, Granby Meadows. A total of 95 homes will be offered, including 38 affordable properties. The show homes are set to open in August, but customers will be able to buy off-plan before then. As a part of this continued investment in the area, Redrow plans to plant additional trees and contribute more than £500,000 towards education in the area.
