Daydreaming of winding down and escaping the rat race? Want to swap office memos for me-time? Now there’s the excuse we’ve all been waiting for – The Coniston Hotel is opening a new spa, and it’s got everyone talking.
Nestled in the Yorkshire Dales, the four-star Coniston Hotel has long been at the top of its game. With 1,400 acres of the Coniston estate to explore, it’s a rural idyll tucked away in the Dales – no surprises that the hotel earned itself the title of Best Large Hotel in Yorkshire at the prestigious White Rose Awards. Now completing a sleek spa development, it’s all set for the ultimate escape to the country.
The spa will take pride of place adjacent to the hotel – offering members and hotel guests incredible views over the estate’s 24-acre lake and the wider Yorkshire Dales countryside. The 16,500 square foot of facilities look to rival the top spas of the country, with a 15m swimming pool, thermal suite, gym, dance studio, spa treatment areas, relaxation and dining areas, an outdoor spa pool and a terrace.
It’s set to be the new go-to spa destination, and word is getting out. When memberships went on sale in June, the hotel was overwhelmed with calls. Memberships are available to individuals, couples or children from less than £70 a month. Benefits will include use of all the spa’s facilities, a gym induction and fitness test, an introductory spa treatment, two guest passes, free wifi access, and discounts off hotel and spa services, including treatments, food, accommodation and membership of The Coniston Racing Club.
Leading spa consultant Nicki Kurran, who has previously worked with Champneys and The Dorchester, has taken a lead role in the project. On launching the spa development earlier this year, Michael Bannister, Chairmen of The Coniston Hotel said, ‘It’s going to be an exciting year for all involved in the development of the spa and the hotel – it will be a fantastic new facility for our hotel guests and local residents.’
The wider Coniston estate celebrates health-boosting holidaying, with a wide range of countryside activities and sports on offer. The new spa will give this ethos a luxurious slant, for a really revitalising getaway. One thing we can be sure of – you can sign us up!
