See Inside this Stunning Renovated Cotton Mill in the Yorkshire Dales
Crown Spindle Mill is an 18th century cotton mill, that has undergone extensive restoration and renovation to create a luxurious family home with additional holiday accommodation
Crown Spindle Mill is nestled within a picturesque valley in Skipton. It is surrounded by fields and there’s a beck that runs beneath the mill. To the front of the property there is a large driveway, with enough parking for several vehicles.
Just inside the entrance is the ground floor bedroom (this is an ensuite and would make a perfect room for guests). The room opposite could be used as an office or an additional bedroom.
The lounge has a feature fireplace and windows overlooking the garden. The kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances and a convenient central island, but the focus of the room is a glass-encased mill wheel spans almost the entire length of the room. From the kitchen you can access the conservatory with its flagged stone floor, which is an ideal spot for enjoying the view over the garden. The ground floor also has a WC and a utility room.
A second living room is on the first floor with a log-burning stove, windows with views of the garden and open countryside beyond, and a door leading into the principal bedroom. This bedroom has both an ensuite and a dressing room. The second floor has two more ensuite bedrooms, and all three ensuites have both tubs and showers.
Sunny Bank apartment is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom residence integrated within the first floor of the house. It has an open-plan kitchen/living room and the option of a private entrance via stairs to the side of the house. The Engine House is a three-storey holiday let adjoining the main house. It has one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen/living area and a bathroom suite with a sauna.
To the back of the property, there is a large garden with well-stocked borders, a patio and a fire pit with seating and views down to the river. A stone chimney at the bottom of the garden is an impressive remnant of the building’s past.
