See This Season's Hottest Wedding Gown Trends

From removable separates to romance and ribbons, here's what's trending for 2025

It’s now almost expected that a bride has multiple looks over the course of her wedding, and designers are catching on. The 2025 collections are full of ‘convertible’ dresses, complete with separates and detachable elements that can be used to create several looks from just one dress.
Skirts and trains can be removed to unveil a shorter, party-ready dress for the reception, as can sleeves and even bodices. Capes, neck scarves and gloves are all glamorous additions to an outdoor ceremony look, which brides can shed when the celebrations move indoors. This allows brides to seamlessly change up their look without the hefty price tag of purchasing multiple dresses. The prevalence of the convertible trend means there’s a significant lean towards mini dresses in many 2025 collections, with overskirts and petticoats optional additions for a flowing gown.

Bows were a 2024 trend that doesn’t show any sign of slowing down. From large, statement bows on the back of gowns to ribbons adorning bodices and sleeves, they’re everywhere in the latest lookbooks (and are often detachable too). Corsetry is also continuing into 2025. Not only does a corset make you look super snatched, they’re also often paired with a basque or drop waist, elongating the torso for real figure flattery.
Romantic looks are in style, with rich fabrics and silhouettes making their way back in the form of pre-Raphaelite inspired gowns. The trend follows (and is possibly influenced by) the 2024 Met Gala, where the theme was Sleeping Beauty, leaning into more whimsical, dreamy dresses that stray from the sleekly modern silhouette. Mikado silk and vintage-style lace pay homage to centuries past, and many gowns this coming season wouldn’t look out of place in a period drama. Grecian-inspired draping is also a trend that adds to this historical romanticism. We’re also seeing plenty of panelling, ruffles and exposed boning which give a Rococo feel, as well as adding texture and intricacy to a gown.
This season, embellishment comes in the form of patterned lace without sparkle, and on glitzy gowns, pearls take precedent over jewels. Floral embellishments are everywhere, continuing the classically romantic trend and giving a distinctly secret garden feel and often colourful additions to collections.
Brides who shy away from the dress haven’t been forgotten either. From statement suits to unique jumpsuits, thoughtfully-designed tailoring is included in most collections. So, whatever your style, you’re sure to find something stunning to say yes to from 2025’s collections, making you feel your very best on your special day.
