Opening its doors on Heaton Road just last month, Fork in the Rose is the brainchild of trained florist Gemma Pringle and chef Daniel Bennett. The café/florist combines breakfasts and bouquets and could be your new go-to for plants, flowers and wildflowers and a cuppa. While they are selling their floral creations online, and have online gift cards available too, you can also purchase them in store over the counter with a take-out hot drink.

Nicola Gill opened The Flower Room on Yarm High Street back in 2013. She was six months pregnant when lockdown hit and, during a rollercoaster year, she’s fought to keep the business going, while bringing new life into the world. She specialises in bespoke, quality floral arrangements, plants and a beautiful selection of vases and pots available to be delivered on Fridays and Saturdays. Read our recent interview with Nicola in our Christmas issues of Living North for the North East and Yorkshire.
