Gary Ormston has been photographing the city of Newcastle for around a decade

Here he shares just a few of his favourite shots of the Toon.

After taking a trip to New York using a small point and shoot camera, Gary upgraded his gear and started capturing Newcastle in a New York, cinematic style. He loves photographing the sunrise over the Quayside and the River Tyne before making his way through the city, using the sunlight to highlight its architecture.

His favourite place to shoot is on either side of, and whilst walking along, the High Level Bridge and his advice for budding photographers is simply to ‘have fun with it all because that’s the main thing’. He says ‘the best camera is the one you have on you’.
