Sonkran is the Thai New Year festival, held from the 13–-5th April every year. From the Sanskrit word for astrological passage, Songkran means transformation or change. Highlights of the festival include the throwing of water, where people throw water over passers by to celebrate the end of Thailand’s dry season.
