The Wedding Trends Every 2025 Bride Should Have on Her Radar

Every bride has her own idea of her dream day, but it's always good to keep an eye on ever-changing trends for some wedding inspiration
Surprises
Surprises in all forms seem to be taking over weddings this year, so expect the unexpected in 2025. Whether it’s the bride chopping her hair into a bob before the reception or flash-mob style entertainers, surprises add an extra element of fun to the big day. Some couples even go as far as throwing a surprise ceremony under the guise of an engagement party (though we argue this might take the trend a little too far).
Fruity Finishing Touches
Flowers as table decorations have dominated weddings since the dawn of time, but what about fruit and vegetables? From bowls of multi-hued tomatoes as centrepieces, and colour-coordinated fruits entwined in ivy, to glistening halves of pomegranates and grapefruits studding the table runner, there are endless ways to forgo flowers and plump for a ripe picking. This works especially well at summer weddings when produce will be at its best.

Curved Dining
It’s a classic occasion issue – long, straight tables limit mingling and can look rather stiff and old-fashioned. Enter serpentine tables – winding tables that resemble a snake and allow for more relaxed socialising and a less restricted feel. They also look amazing, and are sure to make a great impression on guests.
Mocha Mousse
Whether you think it’s Molly Mae-inspired clean girl chic or just, well, brown, Mocha Mousse is Pantone’s colour of the year and therefore set to be big in the bridal world. There are countless ways to incorporate the soft, warm brown hue into your big day – it can be as subtle as using it in your wedding makeup or as bold as cladding your bridesmaids in it. You can even include it in your colour scheme – it goes especially well with blush or gold accents for a luxe romantic vibe.
Paparazzi-Style Photos
Candid photography’s cooler younger sister, paparazzi-style wedding photos are pegged to be everywhere next wedding season. A full-flash creates high-contrast, ultra-flattering unposed pics that ooze raw celebrity. This photography goes particularly well with the documentary-style videography which is currently trending for wedding videos. Bonus points if the photos are blurry action shots or capture the happy couple doing something sneaky.

Branded Wedding
Many couples are now taking personalisation to the next level with custom fonts, crests and monograms, colour schemes and logos, that begin on the save-the-date, continue on the invitations and website, and carry on in the seating plans and signage on the big day. This creates a tightly-branded effect that speaks to hyper-personalisation. Some couples even select a signature scent, which is first spritzed on mail sent to guests before being diffused throughout the venue on the day.
Wedding Party Positioning
Rather than having your bridesmaids and groomsmen stand on your side of the aisle throughout the ceremony, it’s becoming increasingly popular to seat them with the rest of the guests to channel the focus purely onto the happy couple. It’s also becoming popular to switch the sides the wedding party stand on, so that they can see the facial reactions of their dearest half of the couple as they exchange their vows.
Dried Flowers
Although it’s been a long-standing tradition to dry fresh bouquets post-ceremony to preserve them, dried flowers are now making their way into the big day. Mixing dried flowers such as lavender and preserved roses with fresh blooms creates a visually interesting bouquet. Plus, it’s super sustainable as the flowers can be repurposed following the event – ideal for the eco-conscious bride.

Sheet Cakes
Once the unseen heroes of the wedding dessert, slyly cut up in kitchens and dished out to guests to avoid cutting up the actual wedding cake, sheet cakes are now taking centre stage. Rectangular and flat-topped, some wedding sheet cakes are even multi-tiered or as long as the table itself. Lambeth piping, flowers and personal messages in loopy cursive icing are the way to decorate, for a fuss-free cake that speaks to a laid-back bride.
Transformative Dresses
Opting for multiple bridal looks has become increasingly popular in recent years and transformable dresses are now the ultimate 2025 wedding dress trend. Removable capes, detachable petticoats and separate bodices offer a new world of customisation options for gowns, as well as the ability to go from day ceremony to evening reception with ease.
Draping
Uber-romantic and totally gorgeous, draping can be used in numerous ways. Not only does it soften walls, it can be used to hide things you’d rather guests didn’t see. It can also be used to section off larger rooms to create more intimate spaces, such as a speakeasy bar or secluded seating area. Fabric options, too, are boundless – go light and gauzy for a sheer, ethereal fantasy or heavier with silks and velvets for opulent drama.
