When Inspector Goole arrives at the Birling family home, their dinner party is disrupted by an investigation into the death of a young woman and consciences are tested.

You like Jazz?

The Leyburn Jazz Festival returns to the Yorkshire Dales for a fourth year, bringing with it a strong lineup of musical acts. Seven-piece band Hejira will honour the jazz period of Joni Mitchell’s career, with folk and rock crossovers. Plus, jazz guitarist Jim Mullen will perform, as well as Nicola Farnon. With influences from lots of genres outside of jazz, too, this is a music lover’s dream weekend.

Phoenix Rising

Don’t miss PHOENIX this autumn, a new project at York Minster that sees the cathedral lit up like never before. Commemorating the bravery of those who responded to the 1984 fire which destroyed the roof of the South Transept, the display aims to celebrate the resilience and spirit of York’s citizens. See the iconic Rose Window crack as lightning strikes the cathedral and lead pours from the roof through the magic of projection mapping and sound installations.
