This popular farm shop is proud to work with more than 430 Yorkshire farmers and producers to bring you the very best quality of food the county has to offer. At Fodder, the team have built strong relationships with their suppliers and work closely together to support the local economy and produce the best and tastiest food.

From fresh fruit and vegetables to delicious cakes and breads, Fodder also has the biggest range of Longley Farm yogurts in the area and, of course, gallons of local milk from wonderful Dales Dairy in Grassington. The deli counter is laden with fresh pies, cooked meats and a huge variety of amazing Yorkshire cheese.

The award-winning butchery counter is at the heart of Fodder. Head butcher Jack Holden goes out to the farms to ensure that they buy the best from amazing farmers. The butchers make Fodder’s own sausages and their steaks are hugely popular thanks to fabulous suppliers, as well as the newly-installed meat dry ager.

The Fodder café serves great Yorkshire breakfasts, delicious lunches and afternoon tea, alongside tea, coffee and mouth-watering cakes. If you want to eat on the go, try Fodder on the Hoof – an original 1950s airstream caravan serving hot drinks, bacon sandwiches and quick lunches.

Long-term sustainability and Fodder’s impact on the environment are of paramount importance. Fodder has 40 sustainable features incorporated in its fabric, including loo doors made from recycled bottles and a living sedum roof. The roof not only provides fantastic insulation but is a wonderful habitat for insects while filtering rainwater for recycling. Food waste is also high on the team’s agenda and produce which is good enough to eat, but hasn’t been purchased, is donated to various charities including the Harrogate Homeless Project and Resurrected Bites.

Fodder is the only farm shop and café of in the UK where 100 percent of the profits go to the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, a charity helping to develop an environment where farming, food and the countryside thrives and grows. When you make a purchase at Fodder, you are contributing to a unique charity proudly at the heart of Yorkshire’s farming, food, and countryside, now and forever.
