Yorkshire’s Best Food Festivals to Visit this September and October
Autumn is all about good food and exceptional drink
Harrogate Food and Drink Festival
3rd–4th September, Ripley Castle
Showcasing internationally-inspired and locally-produced street food, as well as independent drinks and live chef demos (including chefs from some of Yorkshire’s leading foodie establishments) head to Ripley Castle for a fabulous family day out. You’ll be able to browse the artisan market stalls and pick up everything from brownies and gourmet fudge to cured meats and local cheeses.
Leeds Rum Festival
17th September, Leeds Corn Exchange
This September marks Leeds Rum Festival’s sixth year and it’s going to be their biggest event yet. Hosted by Rolling Social Events, expect an eclectic mix of rum brands including rum sponsor for the festival, Nusa Caña, as well as a team running a Monin Rum bar who will be shaking up some tropical classics such as piña coladas, spiced mango rum punches and watermelon daiquiris. Plus, there will be lots of entertainment, music and food.
Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival
17th–18th September, Holmfirth Towngate
Whether you’re a serious foodie or just enjoy sharing good food and drink with friends and family, there is more than enough at Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival to give you a great time. The fantastic outdoor food market winds its way through the streets offering foods from up the road and across the continent. The open air bar and food court can be found in the centre of the town showcasing the restaurants of Holmfirth, a perfect place to relax and soak up the atmosphere. There’ll be live music, brewery tours and quirky street entertainment too.
York Food Festival
23rd September–2nd October, Parliament Street
Returning for its 26th year, foodies can enjoy 10 days of demonstrations and hands-on events, as well as taste trials, wine sampling, markets and street food. Centred in and around York’s Parliament Street, the food festival will see marquees and live music across the 10 days, with lots of free and ticketed experiences to enjoy.
Yorkshire Pudding Festival
1st–2nd October, Leeds Dock
Yorkshire folk everywhere rejoice! The highly anticipated Yorkshire Pudding Festival is back and this year it’s set to be bigger and better than ever before. Expect food stalls including world cuisines (inside Yorkshire puddings of course), a number of bars to grab a refreshment from (including Yorkshire pudding beer and whisky), as well as craft and charity stalls, cooking demonstrations and live music.
Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival
7th–10th October, across the Yorkshire Dales
Celebrating the incredible produce of the Dales, where cheese is the star, local businesses will be hosting their own special events, menus and tasting sessions to mark the occasion. For one weekend only, look out for cheesy bites, cheese-themed dishes in local cafés and dining experiences, as well as specially created jams, jellies and chutneys in Yorkshire businesses around the Dales.
