Win a Day Ticket for Two Adults and Two Children to Beamish
We’ve teamed up with our friends at Beamish to offer one lucky family a day of exploring The Living Museum of the North
Inspired by the open-air museums of Scandinavia, Beamish was the brainchild of Frank Atkinson, who moved to the region in the late 1950s. The museum has been built from the donations of objects, images and stories from local people and offers a unique exploration of the history of North East.
The world famous open-air museum brings history to life with its 1820s Pockerley, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town and 1950s Spain’s Field Farm exhibit areas. Visitors to the museum will discover fascinating stories of everyday life in the region throughout time, and even take a ride on transport from times gone by. Plus, there are always plenty of events to get involved in and you’ll want to take a souvenir or at least a bag of old-school sweets home to remember your one-of-a-kind day out.
